These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ZamLook website at zamrentals.com, our mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"), operated by ZamLook ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, browsing listings, posting a property, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. About the Platform

ZamLook is an online marketplace that connects people looking for rental properties ("Tenants") with property owners and managers ("Landlords"). We provide search tools, listing pages, messaging, favorites, saved searches, and related features. We are a technology platform only — we do not own listed properties, negotiate leases on your behalf, collect rent, or act as a real estate agent unless explicitly stated.

2. Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must:

Be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in Zambia;
Provide accurate registration information;
Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements;
Not be prohibited from using the Platform under applicable law.

3. Accounts and Roles

You may register as a Tenant, Landlord, Agent, or other role made available on the Platform. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

Social sign-in options (such as Google or Facebook) may be offered. When you use them, you authorize us to receive basic profile information from the provider, such as your name and email address, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

4. Listings and Landlord Responsibilities

If you post a listing, you agree that:

All information, photos, videos, prices, and availability details are accurate and kept up to date;
You have the legal right to offer the property for rent;
Your listing does not violate any law or third-party rights;
You will respond to inquiries in a reasonable and professional manner;
You will comply with applicable housing, tenancy, and advertising laws in Zambia.

Listings may be published automatically or reviewed by our team. We may edit, reject, suspend, or remove any listing that appears misleading, fraudulent, unsafe, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful to users.

5. Tenant Responsibilities

If you use the Platform as a Tenant, you agree that:

You will use listings and contact details only for legitimate rental inquiries;
You will inspect properties and verify terms directly with the Landlord before paying money or signing a lease;
You will not misuse messaging, favorites, or reporting tools;
You understand that viewing a listing on ZamLook does not create a tenancy or reservation.

6. Messaging, Contact, and Off-Platform Deals

The Platform may allow in-app messaging, phone links, and WhatsApp links so users can communicate. We do not monitor every message and are not responsible for agreements made outside the Platform. You are solely responsible for verifying identities, property condition, payment methods, and lease terms before entering into any transaction.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

Post false, duplicate, or misleading listings;
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a property;
Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users;
Scrape, copy, or resell Platform content without permission;
Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with Platform security;
Use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or spam activity.

8. Verification, Reports, and Enforcement

We may offer landlord verification, listing moderation, and user reporting tools. These features are provided to improve trust but do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any listing or user. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for other users.

9. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, branding, software, and original content, is owned by ZamLook or its licensors. You retain ownership of content you upload, but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the Platform.

10. Fees

Basic use of the Platform may be free, but we may introduce paid features, subscriptions, or promotional services in the future. If fees apply, we will disclose them before you are charged.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that listings are available, accurate, or suitable for your needs, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZamLook and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or property arising from your use of the Platform or interactions with other users.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ZamLook from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Platform, your listings, your communications with other users, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continued access creates security or legal risk. Sections that by nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes should first be raised with us through the contact details below so we can attempt to resolve them informally.
